Piece 10

With my piece starting to become more and more realistic, I needed to make sure that my pieces created the messages I needed to portray. When you see the shows of all the animals, you never see to realize how they live. No one understand the struggles they have. In most whale and dolphin shows, they are forced to perform. They are given many drugs and even harmed in order to entertain the public. With these animals being used to the open ocean, they are confined to such small spaces which can cause many health issues. Over time, these creatures die due to the conditions they are "cared" in. This has diminished the population of these beautiful creatures.

Piece 12

The message in this piece is very heartbreaking. I wanted to make a piece that would touch the hearts of everyone. The history of war dogs is horrific. Once finished in war, they are left to die at the camp. They are used to set off bombs that are seen in the field and they are also shot at. Many aren't able to come back home due to no room on the helicopter. This piece was based off a true story and a movie called Megan Leavey. With her struggles of being able to take her dog home due to his label that he was "dangerous," she was unable to take the dog home with her and was forced to leave him behind. This message has such a huge impact to dog owners. The pain that people feel when losing a animals they love.

Piece 11

To many people, they aren't aware of the low population of zebras. With the movie Racing Stripes, I used the name to reinterpret the meaning. With this title, I made the message that zebras are racing to save their population. I used multiple sources to find information about their stripes and their value. They are seen as such a prize animal and also a huge prey for many predators in the safari.

Piece 9

Bears are seen as trophy hunting. These animals aren't killed for food. They are killed for their head and their fur. After hunted, they are left to rot and eaten my other animals. They are often hunted by dogs or trapped and have no way around their death. This has resulted in hundreds of thousands of their deaths which has caused their population to decrease. With this piece, I used the baby oil and colored pencil to create a beautiful background. By making this piece traumatizing, I knew I could make the message very clear.

Piece 8

Cows are the number one mistreated animal. They go through so much trauma. This piece is the prominent piece I have ever made. The message I was trying to tell was told in such a way that it made an impact to several people. With the gory aspect of it, many people feel the pain these animals go through on a daily basis. With the movie. Home on the Range, there are three cows. I used this to show the pain they go through. All three of them represent an injury that they are given during their lifetime through the beef and dairy industry. I put a lot of time and effort into this piece. I knew that the message could take a toll on a number of people. It would be the breaking point to many.

Piece 7

Once I got to this movie on my list, I knew I needed to make this piece very realistic. I did a lot of research on tiger to understand the cause of their depletion in number over the years and it's a result of hunting and habitat loss. Tigers are known for their stripes which people manage to have in their house. Tigers are the number one fur texture that everyone has. They are created into rugs and also head mounts. When making this piece, I made sure that I did texture practice to ensure that I was able to make their prominent features recognizable.  I managed to study my dog since she has the same stance as a tiger. I used her posture to help with the position of the tiger on the paper.
