The artist that inspired me with my piece is Andrew Wyeth. The reason I chose him is because of his texture in the dog's fur when he paints. He is able to create texture but he also makes it very realistic. I used two of his paintings for inspiration.
I am not done with my piece. I am working very hard of it since I haven't done light sources with paintings yet, but it's something new for me to learn.

My piece doesn't really have any meaning like most of my pieces. I chose this photo of my dog because I loved the lighting on her fur and also the photo showed all of the different colors she has in her fur. I decided to only do my dog and not the background only so I could focus on making her fur have texture.
The principle I used are proportion because I made sure I didn't put her in the center of the canvas and also I made sure she took up enough of the canvas to make it loo proportional. Another one id balance, the reason is because the colors all go together and makes the picture look like one.
My judgement of this piece is that even though I am not finished with it, I am very happy with how it's turning out. I have never painting on a canvas before so it's definitely something new for me to learn.
