Molly's Art Class

I have finished my bust. I am really proud with how it turned out. Even thought I didn't add eyes and a mouth, I love the look of it. It turned out how I had wanted it to.

I have given up hope on my portrait, so I went back to my rhino painting I had started. The reason why is because we have to have meaning in our piece that we present and I have a big reason for creating this piece.

 The principle of designs that are shown in this project are contrast and emphasis. The reason why is with emphasis it is on the collar of the drawing. The reason being is that it shows that culture it is. The other element is contrast. The reason being is that I used dark colors on bright paper to make sure your eyes when straight to the drawing. It made the drawing pop out more. The story/ meaning of what I drew is that when my teacher told us it had to have some sort of culture in it, my mind went straight to Egyptian. I have always loved their gods and goddess. I chose to do some sort of take on Anubis, which is my favorite god. I chose the scepter because it represents the culture and religion. My growths are with my proportions and my hands. I have excelled a lot with them. I think my weakness is in the concept and also some parts don't look as if they fit with the drawing. Other than that, I am really happy with how it turned out. 

I had a lot of success on my bust. I am really happy with how it is turning out at the moment. I have managed to add details to it and to touch up certain parts of it.

I have had a lot of progress on my portrait. I have managed to outline it and put a base color on for the beard and started blocking out the highlights in the beard.

I have made progress on my bust. I am really happy with how it is turning out. I have slowly added to it from time to time and this is at the moment.

In painting I have started my portrait. I was able to photocopy my drawing and trace it on my matte board.

This week in painting and ceramics, I finished my animal piece and it has come out of the kiln. I have started my bust. In painting, I have finished my drawing and I am waiting to get it photocopied so I can use it on my painting.
